For home loans in Georgia, exemptions exist for transfer taxes and intangible taxes on VA and FHA loans, among others. However, these exemptions apply only if the VA or FHA are governmental entities purchasing the property in question.
Based on our research, the exemption would not apply unless it were the VA or FHA as an entity purchasing the properties, even though the transaction may be a qualified VA or FHA loan. As such, and to err on the side of caution, LodeStar will not include this discount/exemption option unless specifically requested on a client by client basis.
